Q. I have a research paper that I need help with on the research end of it.
It is a historical biography of the city of Frankfurt Germany from 1871-1918 and I am having trouble finding scholarly articles about what the city was like and what was going on there during that time period. I've searched through the databases. Can you recommend anything that would help refine my researching?
Please see the attached PDF file for instructions to search using the Google Scholar portal. I think this will be your best source for pertinent results, especially if you are mostly interested in English-language resources.
The HathiTrust Digital Library may also turn up some useful resources. The key is to click into the HathiTrust Catalog search and search by Subject using the formal name of the city:
Frankfurt am Main (Germany)
This will retrieve a lot of German language resources. In the HathiTrust Advanced search you can specify English language and set publication years, say 1871-1918, to try to identify items contemporaneous. If you read German you will have many more choices at HathiTrust.
