You must connect to the Science Direct portal through the Criss Library website to be recognized as linking from a UNO computer. Go to the Criss Library homepage, look for the Research Tools column on the left side, and click into the All Databases A-Z directory:

Once in All Databases A-Z, you may click the alphabetical navigation or scroll down to find a link to Science Direct Journals. You will be prompted to login with your NU ID number and the password you created for your Criss Library account.  (This is a different account from Blackboard and GMav.  If you have not already created a Criss Library account, see the attached PDF file for instructions.)

Criss Library currently subscribes to about 80 of the hundreds of journals sold through the Science Direct portal, so searching in Science Direct through the Criss Library website does not guarantee you access to articles.

Some Science Direct journals also have articles embedded within other databases.  Search for the title of a journal (not an article title, but the journal title) in the All eJournals A-Z directory to see if, for example, articles may be available in Academic Search Complete or ABI-Inform Global.  The All eJournals A-Z directory contains records linking to over 50,000 journals embedded within the library's 300 databases.
