How can I recall a DVD I plan to show in my class this week?
I am the professor who requested that the Criss Library order this DVD as I show it in at least one of my East Asia courses each year. Unfortunately, I'm guessing that someone must have checked it out via Interlibrary Loan. I don't understand why it is allowed to be checked out until the end of April! (I have only requested one other DVD requisition during my entire time at UNO, and it, too, once was checked out via ILL for an extended period of time.)
I called (402) 554-2661 yesterday, March 6th, as soon as I detected the problem. The person on the phone promised to pass along my urgent request. I am concerned that I haven't heard a reply as of yet. THANK YOU for any assistance you may give in retrieving these two DVDs!
Sincerely,

I forwarded your message to my colleagues in Circulation and Interlibrary Loan. I'm sure that they will do whatever they can to retrieve the DVD.
In the future, however, I think your best solution may be to have the DVD copied and hosted for streaming. You would then be able to post a link to BlackBoard and your students could view the stream from there, or you could project the stream in class. The library's Creative Production Lab now offers this streaming service to faculty, and you may contact Jacque Skarda (jskarda@unomaha.edu; 554-2542) to make arrangements.
