I am a distance education graduate student. How can I get a copy of the following thesis: Alternative methods for identifying groups of neighborhoods to support the development of alliances in Omaha, Nebraska / Heather L. Bloom? My adviser asked me to read Heather Bloom's thesis in preparation for my own thesis process; however, there seems to be no electronic copy available. Can the thesis be emailed or mailed to me?
UNO graduate students have been required to submit PDF copies of their theses since 2007, but Ms. Bloom completed her thesis in 2005. The library does not have access to an electronic copy.
Our Interlibrary Loan staff can mail you the circulating copy of the thesis. Please note this statement on the Distance Education Resources page of the library website: "Students enrolled in UNO classes through the Distance Education program may request books and print materials not available online from the Criss Library collection through Interlibrary Loan. Create an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) account to access this service. REMEMBER: Interlibrary Loan (ILL) requests from Distance Education Students have priority status, so make sure you identify yourself as a Distance Education Student when you set up your account so your request will receive priority status!"
My colleagues in the Interlibrary Loan office will gladly process your request when the library reopens after the holiday interim next week on Wednesday, January 2. I am monitoring the Ask-a-Librarian queue while the library is closed to offer what assistance I can.
Best wishes for your research,
James Shaw, Director of Collections, Criss Library, UNO; jshaw@unomaha.edu
