I am doing a research prospectus for my research class and my hypothesis is, "Adolescent male students identified with Asperger's Syndrome are at greater risk of suicidal ideation and suicidal behavior than adolescent male students without Asperger's Syndrome." I need some assistance finding a reliable "Suicidal Ideation" test I can get a copy of and a test to identify Asperger's Syndrome. These items will help me supplement my prospectus. How do I find such test/assessments? In addition, I only found about 5 helpful articles related to my hypothesis. Any suggestions about which databases to use or types of search limiters I could use?
There is a guide with links to three different databases that contain information about tests for suicidal ideation. Here is a link to the guide: http://libguides.unomaha.edu/education
You will find the test databases under the "Test Reviews and Directories" tab. I found the msot results in Mental Measurements and PsycTests databases.
Here is a link to a Psychology guide: http://libguides.unomaha.edu/psychology. On the home page of this guide are links to databases and the same 3 test databases. I searched PsycInfo using the terms "asperger's syndrome and suicidal ideation" (without the double quotes) and found the most articles there. I also tried the same search in our catalog and received the same results.
I am going to send this question to Melissa Cast-Brede, the Education Librarian, to ask if she has more ideas for finding information.
