I am researching a volume in my library's Rare Book Collection, which the UNO Library also has a copy of. It is Joseph de Girard’s L’ami de la nature (1787), call number PQ1985.G575 A8 1787 (Icarian Collection). Could you please let me know how your copy is bound? Ours has a very strange paper binding that may be 18th-century wallpaper, and I am trying to find out if other copies were bound this way or if ours is unique.
Our copy is a small, light brown hardcover with light blue endpapers. Our archivist Les Valentine just retrieved the book for me, and we both think that this appears to be the original binding.
