If you're referring to interlibrary loan books, you'll get an email that is has arrived.
For books in our library that we're holding for you, you'll also get an email. If you requested it today, it will most likely be pulled tomorrow.
I'm not sure I understand your question about ebooks. There shouldn't be wait for ebooks. Perhaps it is a login problem. Could you give me some more details?
