I am looking for data on steel imports. The US Census bureau provided the following -
The US imports of merchandise is collected using the Harmonized Tariff Classification Codes (HTS). The greatest level of data is at the 10-digit level and at that level you would have quantity. Any less than 10-digits you would not have quantity, unless you pulled the data at the 10-digit level and all units of measurements for each 10-digit code are the same. (kg, t, number etc.). The full database for all 10-digit codes were sent to Depository Libraries and University Libraries on CD-ROMS/DVDS monthly. you would use the December disk for month December and Year to Date for total trade for the year. You can check to see if The US Imports of Merchandise CD-ROM/DVD would be available for you to use. These would go back to December 1989. Can you tell me if the Criss Library has these CD-ROM/DVD? Us imports of Merchandise. Thanks.
We do not have this item, but you can request it through interlibrary loan. Please see this link to the catalog record for "U.S. Imports of Merchandise."
From this page, you can click on "request item through interlibrary loan." However, I only see journal/magazine format for this title. I also found a catalog record for "U.S. Exports of Merchandise." See link:
Again, we don't have this item but you can request it through interlibrary loan. It looks like compact disc is available to interlibrary loan for this title. For more information on available formats through interlibrary loan, please contact Mark Walters, the library's interlibrary loan coordinator. His phone number is 402-554-3209, and email is mpwalters@unomaha.edu. I hope this helps. Please let us know if you need further assistance.
