I'll also give you my contact information.  I'm the library specialist for the College of Education and I can help you find research articles on designing a school library.  Also, I worked with Dr. Pasco to develop a web page of resources on library buildings for one of her classes.  Some of the resources are only available in our library, but many are openly available web resources.  There is a section for teen and child spaces in libraries that might be helpful to you.
